History
Elevate Jiu Jitsu began from humble beginnings in July 2024 when Professor Filemon Teixeira and Cameron Hamel started training families together in a garage environment built on passion, friendship, and community. What started as a small local training group quickly grew into a full academy in Longwood, Florida. The academy officially opened its doors in January 2025 with the goal of creating a welcoming home for students of all ages and experience levels. Today, Elevate continues to grow as a family-focused Brazilian Jiu Jitsu academy dedicated to discipline, confidence, fitness, and personal growth.
Professor Filemon Teixeira brings years of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu experience and technical instruction rooted in his training background from Brazil and the Gutho/Atos lineage. Together with Cameron Hamel, the academy was built from humble beginnings training families in a garage before opening their Longwood location in 2025. Their mission is to create a welcoming, family-oriented academy where everyone feels supported on and off the mats.

Known for his supportive coaching style and attention to every student's progress, he leads Elevate with a strong emphasis on community, competition, and personal growth.
